PRINT SMARTER.
Everything you need to know before you hit print. Whether you're submitting a file or building from scratch, this guide makes sure your object comes out exactly as intended.
PREPARING YOUR FILE
We accept STL and STEP formats. Before submitting, ensure your model is watertight with no open edges or inverted normals. Scale your file to the exact dimensions you need. What you send is what we build.
LAYER HEIGHT AND RESOLUTION
Layer height determines surface quality and print time. Lower layer height means finer detail but longer production. 0.08mm to 0.16mm for maximum detail, 0.16mm to 0.20mm for balanced work, and 0.20mm to 0.24mm for fast functional output.
INFILL AND STRENGTH
Infill controls weight and strength. 5-10% for decorative, 10-20% for balanced functional, and 20-40% for maximum strength. Note that above 40% typically adds mass without proportionate strength gains.
WALL LOOPS AND PERIMETERS
Wall loops define shell thickness. 2 loops for standard, 3-4 for strength focus, and 5+ for structural parts. Higher loop counts also improve surface finish and infill bonding.
SUPPORT STRUCTURES
Geometry beyond 45 degrees requires supports. These are removed post-print but may leave minor marks. Design with this in mind or let our team optimise your orientation for the best finish.
CHOOSING THE RIGHT SETTINGS
Match settings to material and use. PLA for standard projects, PETG/ABS for heat and functional needs, and TPU for flexibility. Tell us your object's function and we'll handle the optimisation.
COMMON MISTAKES TO AVOID
Avoid incorrect scaling, walls thinner than 1.2mm, ignoring overhang angles, or choosing infill based only on cost. We recommend a test print before bulk production.
All parameters listed in this guide are generic recommendations. Actual settings may vary depending on the geometry, material and intended use of your object. Our team will advise the optimal configuration for every project.
